Be Thankful Daily-Not Just In November

Tis the season to be thankful. I try to look around daily and give my gratitude to whom it belongs. Being blessed, with little things, as well as the big, daily, not just in November. We get blessings daily, why shouldn’t we be thankful daily?

A few years ago, I didn’t have a lot of “stuff” to be thankful for, so I learned to look around and search for what I already had to be thankful for. Daily.  This became a ritual for me and thankfully, still is today. I had a lot, even though we were going through a storm. I just had to open my eyes. I began praying prayers of thanksgiving throughout the day. We always have good in our life, even if we have gale-force winds causing damage to our otherwise happy lives. We have blessings and things to be thankful for. Always. It is up to us to open our eyes, see the things, and be grateful.

Our unanswered prayer

Have you ever prayed for something but God said No? Have you ever looked back on that prayer and been thankful that God told you No?

Those are called unanswered prayers.

Although He always listens, He doesn’t always answer our prayers in the way we wish He would. #unansweredprayers Click To Tweet

Although He always listens, He doesn’t always answer our prayers in the way we wish He would.

We turn to God and ask for piddly things, unimportant trivial things in our lives. We also pray for health, safety, happiness and actual important things in our lives. And then there are those prayers where you ask God for something so important and you pray He answers you the way you want.

Being thanksgiving-full on Thanksgiving Day

“Forever on Thanksgiving Day, the heart will find the pathway home.” Wilber D. Nesbit, I hope you are always right. I always want to be full of family on Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving Day to me means being full.

I have a saying that I (unfortunately) say throughout the year when I happen to over-indulge. “Thanksgiving-full”. This is the feeling of being too full of food. Stuffed. Like the turkey. (although we don’t actually stuff our turkeys)

Every Thanksgiving Day, I eat all the sides (I mean carbs), I eat all the desserts and just a little turkey and ham. I am full. Stretchy-pants-Thanksgiving-full.

Thanksgiving-full can also be a positive thing when you are full of all the other things Thanksgiving Day should offer.
