Playing The Waiting Game-The Game Of Cancer

Sitting and waiting, waiting on words I hoped I would never hear.  The waiting game is a game that is no fun to play. And it’s a hard game to win. With patience, peace and a whole lot of prayer, I know we will win and we will be okay. I pray so.

Waiting in an office for the doctor to come in. Waiting on words I never wanted to hear.

Waiting.

January Is A Diet Of All Things-Time To Begin Again

January is a diet of all things after over-indulging during the holidays. Too much merriment. Too much shopping, buying, decorating, baking, eating and drinking.

January is a do-over. A reset button. A clean slate. The new year is a new you. A brand new pretty planner. January is the time to begin again.

Telling My Story-My Dream Come True

After delaying the dream of writing for so many years, being published in a print magazine was a dream come true. Last January, I was published in Holl and Lane, starting my 2017 off to a bang.

There is something unforgettable about holding something in your hand.  Something that you wrote yourself.  Your words.  This is what dreams are made of; this was my dream come true.

This is my story.

Reflecting Back On 2017–Good And The Bad

With the year coming to an end, I want to remember all the good and learn from the bad. Reflecting back on the year gone by, I smile, and I know it was a good one.

Reflecting back, 2017 has been a year of blessings. They all are, don’t you think? We are all blessed, no matter what we are going through, because there could always be more burden put upon us.

I am taking a moment to pause and reflect upon 2017 to appreciate the good, change the blah and look the bad in the eyes.

Christmas Joy-A Perfect Christmas Isn’t About All the Things

Thinking about what makes a perfect Christmas and what puts Christmas in our hearts, I realize, today, I already have the things that make Christmas perfect. In fact, I have them all year-long, not just in December.

Thinking about the perfect Christmas, I ponder. What are the usual list of characters that make Christmases merry?

Eight Ways to Fake The Smell Of A Live Tree

In my adult life, I have only had three live Christmas trees. I love the beauty, the un-perfect look, and the smell of a live tree. However, I don’t love the clean up, fire hazard, or the stress of stringing the lights.

Having a faux tree is a convenience, for sure. No needles on the floor. Faux trees, or forever trees, are also more economical because you can re-use the tree, year after year. And, if you buy a pre-lit tree, you have the ease of the lights, the ease of no stress of stringing the lights.

Be Thankful Daily-Not Just In November

Tis the season to be thankful. I try to look around daily and give my gratitude to whom it belongs. Being blessed, with little things, as well as the big, daily, not just in November. We get blessings daily, why shouldn’t we be thankful daily?

A few years ago, I didn’t have a lot of “stuff” to be thankful for, so I learned to look around and search for what I already had to be thankful for. Daily.  This became a ritual for me and thankfully, still is today. I had a lot, even though we were going through a storm. I just had to open my eyes. I began praying prayers of thanksgiving throughout the day. We always have good in our life, even if we have gale-force winds causing damage to our otherwise happy lives. We have blessings and things to be thankful for. Always. It is up to us to open our eyes, see the things, and be grateful.

Find Yourself-Discovering Your True Self At Any Age

Life is a discovery at any age. Life is a journey. We choose the paths we take and sometimes the path chooses us. At any age, at any stage, you can find a new path. Take a new road. Find yourself.

Doing so is scary. It takes bravery to find yourself, find your true self. It is easier to keep walking on the same path you are comfortable traveling on.

October is a beautiful time to travel with friends. Then again, all twelve months are great for traveling. Today, October 30, is a great day!

In my writing challenge, I am writing abut fall and fall feels. Today, I write about traveling in the fall with friends.

After all, life was meant for good friends and great adventures!

October is a month we travel in, not sure why, but we always do.

We have traveled to New York, Ruidoso, London, Las Vegas and San Francisco and Napa. All in October.
