I love pumpkins.  Always have.  But this year I have grown my own.  My own ten pumpkin babies and I have two more on the way!

When I say “pumpkin babies’ it is because when you have no bees, you improvise, with self-pollination.

Henry Davis Thoreau once said, “I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion.”

Growing pumpkins is a piece of cake (pumpkin cake!!) and seems to have a lot to do with luck.  I can give you pointers.  I highly recommend you try it.

And had I had bees…please!!

“Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie,” Jim Davis so wittingly wrote.
